Sporting Activities

There will be a range of sporting activities for you to try. Come and talk to volunteers from each of the sporting clubs participating and find out the details of their 2027 seasons.

Cricket

Come and meet Club members and ‘Have a Go’ at batting, bowling and catching. Soft balls used.

Festive Tribe Blocks & Mo-Scape walls

Come and join the building fun on the oval with Festive Tribe Blocks and Mo-Scape walls

New Varangian Guards – Vlachernai Garrison

Ready to meet some modern day Vikings? Come and visit the camp of the Vlachernai Garrison on the oval and see them demonstrate some historical re-enactments

District Scouts

The District Scouting movement will be providing a range of exciting activities in Alistair Knox Park (near the end of Panther Place) including a rope bridge. Come and have a go.

Mini Golf

Bring the whole family and join 1st North Eltham Scouts for a game Mini Golf

Archery and Hatchet Throwing

Bottom of Alistair Knox Park near Panther Place.
The 2nd Eltham Sea Scouts will provide (plastic) hatchet throwing and (suction) archery.

NillumBUG

NillumBUG is a bike users club in the Shire of Nillumbik, catering for a variety of riding levels and encouraging others to join in order to gain the social and physical benefits of riding in a group. Bike racks will be available inside the oval near the bike path. Available 10am to 4pm

Eltham Panthers Netball Club

Eltham Panthers Netball Club plays in the Manningham Netball Association at Templestowe outdoor courts. We offer U9s through to u21s.

Camel Rides

Camel Rides. Take a turn around the oval on the camel train and pretend you’re an adventurer in the desert

Children aged 3 & 4 yrs old MUST ride with an Adult and EVERY rider pays. The cost is $20 pp. Lap sitters aged 3 & 4 are $15pp

Pony Rides

Take a jog with Western Charm ponies. You’ll find them around the back of the oval

We will be offering interactive football activities including a handball competition

Little Sports Heroes

Lots of fun activities for the littlest sporting heroes.

Rotary Races

Rotary Races for all on the hour from 11am.

Come and pair up with your little one in a three legged race or try balancing the egg on the spoon. Prizes proudly donated by Grill’d, Skaters and McDonalds.
Be in the running for a prize from Van Dykes Swimming Greensborough for swimming lessons

Karate

Karate is fitness with a purpose for everyone from 5 year olds to grandparents. Come and Join GKR Karate and have a go!

Eltham Lacrosse Club

Lacrosse has been a favourite sport in Eltham for 60 years. Come and show off your catching and throwing skills and watch an exhibition game on Have a Go Oval.

Junior Football

Come and have a kick of the footy with Research Junior Football Club. Find out about their Auskick programs and their junior boys and girls teams. Have a go at handball and come and find out about our 2027 season.

Face Painting

The 1st Eltham North Scouts will be on hand to create butterflies, lions or other face painting designs.
