Free Christmas Entertainment in Alistair Knox Park

Come for a family afternoon of fun in Alistair Knox Park on Sunday 17 December. Do some Christmas shopping at the Library Place Christmas market from 4pm to 8pm run by Diamond Valley Community Support then amble over to the Park for an evening picnic and family sing-a-long entertainment at the Christmas Concert in the Park from 6-8.30pm. Special guest appearance from Santa at 7pm.

Performers including children’s favourite Tim Credible, THECHO!R, Ruby Tuesdays, Lila Smith, Ceyda Demir, Damien Marshall and other performers. See full program here

What time does it start?
The concert will get underway at 6pm.

What time does it end?
The concert will wrap up at 8.30pm.

Will the event suit all age groups?
This is a joyful concert that will particularly appeal to families. Local school groups, children’s choirs, and a children’s entertainer will head up the first hour of the concert, followed by the appearance of Santa. There will also be adult performers and choirs entertaining with a mix of Christmas themed items as well as carols.

What time will Santa appear?
Santa will arrive at 7pm.

Can I bring my dog?
Pets are allowed in Alistair Knox Park, they must be on leads and owners are responsible for collecting and disposing of any waste appropriately.

Can I bring a chair?
Yes, you can bring a chair. Low fold-up chairs are preferred. People with higher chairs will be directed to the sides of the audience space so as not to obstruct the view of other patrons.

Can I bring a picnic?
You are welcome to bring a picnic, bring the family and enjoy the evening in the Park.

Will there be seating provided?

Will there be shelter if it is hot/wet?
No. Don’t forget hats and sunscreen. There will be some sunscreen available in the Park.

What food will be available?
There will be a sausage sizzle run by the Rotary Club of Eltham, and other stalls selling twisted potatoes, gozleme, donuts (gf and vegan), ice cream and coffee. There will be a water station (bring your own refillable bottles) and soft drinks will also be available.

Can I bring alcohol?
Alcohol will not be available to purchase.

How accessible is it for older people/people with disabilities?
Alistair Knox Park has well constructed and maintained paths and the stage area is easy walking distance from Panther Place and Main Road. Accessible toilets will be provided. There are some disabled parking spots in Panther Place and Main Road.

Is there parking available?
There is limited parking in Panther Place and around Eltham Central Oval. There is more parking around Eltham station and in the Eltham shopping areas.

Do I need to book? How do I book?
No need to book – just turn up on the day. Why not visit the craft market in Library Place before taking up your place in the Park.

What does it cost?
The event is free. The organiser of the event, Rotary Club of Eltha, would appreciate gold coin donations, the proceeds of which will be put towards their community support projects. However, there is absolutely no obligation to donate.
