About us and festival fundraising

The Rotary Eltham Festival is an annual event brought to you by the Rotary Club of Eltham working in partnership with the Shire of Nillumbik.

In previous years, funds raised by the Rotary Club of Eltham, including at the Eltham Festival, were spent in the following way:

  • Community and Volunteers of Eltham (CAVE) scholarships for students in need;
  • scholarship for local PhD student at Walter and Eliza Hall Institute;
  • Christmas hampers for families in need via the Lions Wishing Tree Appeal;
  • support to the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal;
  • shade sail installation at Eltham Lower Park;
  • support to the rebuild of the Eltham North playground;
  • support for mobility of Eltham Retirement Village residents by registration and insurance of residents’ bus;
  • pedestrian traffic safety assistance at the Eltham Jazz Festival and Anzac Dawn Service;
  • donation to Josh Davis fund to assist in rehabilitation at Next Step and volunteer support for major fundraising event;
  • research into Post Traumatic Stress Disorder via Australian Rotary Health and RSL;
  • support to healthAbility Eltham’s Emergency Relief Fund, Reconnect program and Going Wild program;
  • support to St Kilda Mums to enable the purchase of baby car seats for young families in need;
  • support to the Next Step Wellness Hub;
  • support to the Diamond Valley Learning Centre;
  • support to the Ellimatta Youth Centre Kinglake;
  • sponsorship of students under Operation Newstart;
  • support to Syrian refugees housed in Eltham.
