Arts Precinct
The Arts precinct at this year’s Rotary Eltham Festival will have an emphasis on movement, colour, and interaction.
It will be a day of exciting cultural displays , workshops , exhibits and artistic performance
The large Chai tea marque provided by Rob Farrell is a good way to commence your visit- with a cup of tea in a relaxing setting including cushions , atmosphere and colour. A workshop showcasing and demonstrating one of the world’s oldest wind instruments , the didgeridoo will be run by Peter Matic , Didge Circe Co-ordinator .
Mary- Lou Pittard, will have a wide range of decorative tableware available – paint a plate or tile for Christmas as a gift.
Jacque Hacansson will display colourful lead glass panels and fused bowls and work.
Paintings and displays will also be included – from Nathan Cole who specialises in oils and bird themes. The Araluen Centre, regular participants at the Festival, will also be present with a selection of works from its Centre.
Have you ever wanted to make something out of wood? Well now is your chance to do something about it. Talk to one of the Eltham Woodworkers at the exhibition and demonstration at the Community Centre or at their tent at the Arts precinct.
Local sculptor Leigh Conkie who specialised in wood carvings from Cyprus pine will also give a demonstration of his work .
