About Us

The Rotary Eltham Festival is an annual event brought to you by the Rotary Club of Eltham working in partnership with the Shire of Nillumbik and the Eltham Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Last financial year, funds raised by the Rotary Club of Eltham, including at the Eltham Festival, were spent in the following way:


A caring community
  • the Children’s Mobility program of Guide Dogs Victoria
  • St John Ambulance, Diamond Valley with equipment for First Aid training
  • Fun Flight to enable children with medical conditions to experience the joys of flying
  • the Sensitive Santa program, a low stress Santa experience for children with Autism
  • celebrate Sgt Grant Mitchell for effective community policing in our community
  • pharmacy costs of terminally ill patient in Eltham via the Banksia Palliative Care Service
  • emergency support of an Eltham family with extreme medical & financial stress
  • Christmas hampers for families in need via the Lions Christmas Giving Tree Appeal
  • The Orange Sky Mobile Laundry project bringing dignity to homeless persons
  • the recovery of Queensland communities impacted by Cyclone Debbie


Eltham Retirement Village (Judge Book)
  • refurbish a Sensory Garden for residents at Eltham Retirement Village (ERV)
  • support mobility of ERV residents by registration and Insurance of Residents’ bus
  • settlement of Syrian refugees in Eltham via ‘Welcome to Eltham’ driving licence program


Community services
  • construct and install additional family seating in Lower Eltham Park
  • reconstruction of the community stage in Alistair Knox Park with Powerbox relocation
  • secure storage & access to digitised records of the Eltham & District Historical Society
  • pedestrian traffic safety assistance at the Eltham Jazz Festival and Anzac Dawn Service
  • trampoline mat repair at Hohnes Road Playhouse


Medical research
  • PhD research into immune system responses at the Walter & Eliza Hall Institute
  • research into Post Traumatic Stress Disorder via Australian Rotary Health and RSL
  • research into Type 1 Diabetes Susan Alberti Foundation
  • the Royal Children’s Hospital Appeal in honour of Sgt Grant “Mitch” Mitchell
  • alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs at Odyssey House
